Tirlán

Tirlán launched its new brand identity in 2022 marking a new era in Glanbia’s history. Rigney Forge were engaged to work with the team during this transition period. Collaborating and supporting the team at Glanbia to bring the new brand to life in their retail environments.

THE OBJECTIVE.

Combining the Irish words ‘Tir’ for land and ‘Lán’ for full, Tirlán stands for ‘Land of Abundance’ and represents the deep connection and relationship between the Co-op, its people and the land they nurture together to farm and sustain.

The aim of the redesign of the Bunclody CountryLife store was to create an environment that reflects the brand’s identity and values. With the objective of creating a sense of modernity to bring the new Tirlán brand to life while also respecting the long history and legacy within the community.

Liaising with suppliers, shop fitters and printing companies to ensure the smooth delivery of the new branding and store design. 

UNIQUE CHALLENGES TO SOLVE.

The store redesign had to cater to the local farming community and appeal to existing and new retail customers, ensuring that the store facilitated all customers’ missions in a welcoming, familiar, cohesive environment. Working with the Tirlán team and local staff and conducting initial research was vital to understanding the needs of
the various customers.

Also, the new store design created for Bunclody had to be transferable to a network of 53 stores nationwide. Therefore, designing the store with this in mind was critical to the project’s success.

THE RESULT.

By understanding the target audience and
Tirlán CountryLife’s unique selling proposition, Rigney Forge were able to create a compelling shopping experience that resonates with the farming community and retail customers alike. The end result communicates the brand’s story and connects with customers on a deeper level through storytelling and bold messaging through the store and garden centre.

Through careful selection of materials, colours, lighting, and layout a cohesive look and feel that has a sense of familiarity for old customers while also attracting new ones with a modern and fresh aesthetic was achieved.

Additionally, the redesign improved the store’s functionality, making it more efficient and enjoyable for customers to navigate.
